EI Release Notes (June 2026)

New Features

• Textbox Markup Sync: We have added a layer level setting that allows Team Admins to enable “syncing” between the Ei Objects and the Textbox Markups attached to the Object!  This should be especially helpful for LOTO, Maintenance/TA Planning and LDAR Tag markups.

• Enhanced LIST View: We have added improvements to our LIST View to make it more user-friendly to enable custom views (including more easily adjusting columns and property picking) as well as viewing other data fields directly in the LIST View (such as related Objects, Drawings, and Parents).

• Arrow/Ellipse Textbox: We have added an arrow/ellipse textbox to the CAD markup toolbar as an alternative to the rectangular textbox.

• Walkdown Mode – Option to Require Photos: We have added the ability for Team Admins to optionally require photos be attached for punchlist items in Walkdown Mode.

• CAD Markups multi-select – users now have the option to multi-select while in edit mode for CAD markups!

• EDMS Integration – improvements on live syncing of CAD revisions from document management systems into Ei CAD drawings directly.  External CAD Revision Management: Introduced a new "Manage Sheet Revisions" modal that acts as a centralized hub for viewing all drawing revisions, featuring the ability to link and import external CAD versions.

Improvements

• Supporting Facility-Specific 2D Map Rotation: facilities can not set a preferred 2D map view rotation setting for when users login to Ei (this allows us to account for true north vs. plant north in the satellite view).

• Branded PDF Exports: Exported PDFs now automatically embed Ei Everywhere product name directly within the document metadata (author and creator).

• Clearer UX for Data Imports – we’ve made improvements to the Data Imports screen to make it clearer how to do uploads for new objects vs. enriching existing objects.

• Walkdown Mode – a user’s Left Panel settings are now fully restored after exiting walkdown mode (previously a user would have to turn layers back on).

• Cloud Markup Tool (smaller scale) – we’ve made improvements to the cloud markup tool to have the cloud work for smaller scale cloud markups!

• Improved CAD Line Visibility in PDF Exports: Fine CAD lines now print darker and clearer in high-resolution exports, eliminating the washed-out appearance of thin drawing lines.

Fixes

• Accelerated Markup Loading: Applied critical database optimizations that significantly speed up markup loading times, mitigating an issue where retrieval previously averaged 28 seconds.

• Synchronized 2D Map Panning: Aligned the scroll and pan directions in the 2D map view to perfectly match the CAD tab, establishing gesture consistency across screens.

• Case-Insensitive CAD Uploads: Fixed a bug where files with uppercase extensions (e.g., .PDF) failed to upload by adding automatic lowercase extension normalization.

• Vector PDF Markup Integrity: Fixed a bug to ensure all Fabric markups are cleanly included in high-fidelity vector PDF exports.

• High-Fidelity CAD Viewer PDF Exports: Fixed dimensions and resolution settings for CAD viewer exports to generate sharper vector PDFs matching original drawing measurements.

• Touch & Gesture Enhancements (CAD Viewer): Enabled long-press functionality to open context menus on iPad/touch devices in CAD view, corrected trackpad pinch-to-zoom over-sensitivity, and addressed overall dragging and gesture cleanup issues.

• Hold-to-Confirm Button Tracking: Fixed pointer exit behavior on hold-to-confirm buttons to ensure actions cancel or hold properly if a cursor moves off the boundary (e.g., when deleting objects).
