This article shows a demo and an overview of how to use Ei Everywhere for one of our major use cases - TA and maintenance schedule reviews.

Overview of the Use Case

Ei Everywhere is built flexibly to allow for users to accomplish various use cases across the plant. One of the major use cases is performing schedule reviews for maintenance use cases.

Whether you’re gearing up for a major turnaround event or managing a routine maintenance schedule and the permitting process, this use case helps you layer your valuable schedule information into the portal to get the Google Earth and 3D Visualization view of your schedule. Some of the things it makes it easy to spot are:

  • Areas with heavy work density during Turnaround and Project windows
  • Highlighting critical path or safety-specific work
  • Reviewing routine maintenance outlook to prioritize and knock out maintenance backlog while you're doing work in the area
  • Conflicts or overlaps before you hit the field

See below for a video on how this works!

Step-by-Step Guide

Below is a step-by-step on how to setup and accomplish this use case:

  • Step 1 - Decide How You’ll Get Your Schedule Data In. There are two ways to do this: 1) via a live integration with your scheduling software using Ei Everywhere's APIs, or 2) using the spreadsheet upload to import a CSV file directly.
  • Step 2 - Make Sure Properties Are Created On Your Team Admin Page. Ensure that properties are created in Ei for the information that is going to be synced into Ei Everywhere for the use case (Start Date, End Date, Labor Hours, etc.).
  • Step 3 - Build Your Dynamic Filters. In your maintenance or turnaround team, open the layer where jobs live (e.g., Work Orders). Now you’ll see jobs/tasks from your scope. Use filters to isolate specific scopes, dates, or types. See your jobs layered with color codes to show what’s active, upcoming, or done
  • Step 4 - Share Your Filters With Everyone That Needs It and Provide Training Content (this video).

Recap and Tips for Success

  • If you’re a Team Admin, go to the Team Management page. This is where you manage users and set up new layers, properties and do data imports (if needed.
  • Keep your layer names simple and consistent.
  • Setup object properties to align to the information you're importing into Ei.
  • Ensure your planners and engineers are tagging their jobs so every job has a 3D location!

Other Technical Notes for Use Case Setup

  • Ei's default syncing frequency for live integrations is daily (every 24h), but if you need it more frequently, please reachout to !
  • All external data fields that contain date are automatically formatted to the date format of the site. If you are seeing date fields that are not searchable as dates (and for example are showing up as text fields, reachout to support@env-int.com)
  • If you are not seeing the "Percent Complete Bubble" in the right panel, reachout to as well!
  • Ei also has the ability to set "favorited" External Data properties, which bubbles them to the top of the Right Panel and makes them able to be seen in the External LIST view. Again, reachout to if you'd like to favorite any properties in your integration!
